Wanpan Hydronic Heating System – High Thermal Conductivity

In physics, thermal conductivity is the property of material’s ability to conduct heat. In accordance with Wikipedia – “Heat transfer across materials of high thermal conductivity occurs at a higher rate than across materials of low thermal conductivity”.

Copper and aluminum are known as metals having very high thermal conductivity. Based on this fact, heating panels of Wanpan hydronic skirting board radiant heating system are made of copper (pipes) and aluminum (front surface). It helps to transfer heat from hot water through heating panels, while experiencing the lowest possible heat loss.

Heating panels of Wanpan hydronic heating system are made out of two metals – copper and aluminum, so consumers benefit significantly from consuming maximum amount of heat, radiated from the surface of Wanpan hydronic baseboard radiant heating system into room as fast as possible.

Low energy consumption as well as low inertia of Wanpan hydronic skirting board radiant heating system gives an opportunity to enjoy the product which has been engineered based on scientific data of specific metal qualities.

Energy Consumption and Wood Flooring

A signifficant amount of heating energy could be lost when transfering heat through other objects and especially – wood. The thermal conductivity of wood is very low, compearing with metals. Wood -based materials as loose fill, flexible batts or rigid panels are used for Thermal or Sound Insulation.

Because of these scientific facts, it is not a very good idea to install wood floor and infloor/underfloor heating system while seeking to have energy efficient heating. Energy efficient Elpan/Wanpan skirting board radiant heating system has no limitations at this point and any type of flooring works perfectly fine.

The thermal conductivity of structural softwood lumber at 12% moisture is about 1500 times lower than thermal conductivity of aluminum.

Front plates of Wanpan modular heating panels are made of aluminum. The structure of hydronic Wanpan skirting board heating system allows radiant heat to flow through aluminum plates into the room without the additional energy consumption, which would be needed to transfer heat through the wood floor. Copper pipes mounted behind the aluminum front plates of Wanpan baseboard modular panels complete the concept of this ultimate heating system.
