Elpan/Wanpan Heating System Versus Infloor Heating

Elpan/Wanpan heating system has quite few more advantages comparing with infloor or underfloor heating. One of them – low inertia. When using Elpan/Wanpan heating systems reaction time to the change of indoor temperature is vClick enlargeery fast

Significant energy savings are achieved because of sunlight/sun heat coming through windows. Elpan/Wanpan skirting board heating system stops heating immediately, while infloor heating system just caries on giving off heat.

The Thermal Encirclement principle also offers heating cost savings when compare to infloor heating, as it is virtually impossible to use night and day heat reduction, because the reaction time for reducing floor heating is signifficantlly longer, tipicaly 5-7 hours, and so reducing the heat does not pay off.

Residents are experiencing healthier indoor environment, because there is no additional dust rising from the lowest level of the room and affecting those with asthma or other respitorial problems. Immune system of kids and adults living in the house with Elpan/Wanpan heating system is not influenced negatively by walking on heated surface of the floor. Also, it is noticed, that bigger indoor kept dogs feel more comfortable while siting or laying on the floor which is not heated.

When Elpan electric or Wanpan hydronic/water based heating system is installed, flooring materials do not affect heating efficiency as well as carpeting or furnishing.  Heating energy flows directlly into the room. Created Thermal Encirclement gives a feeling of highest level of comfort.

Neat heating panels are mounted instead regular baseboards, which eliminates additional expenses related to regular wood or polyester basebord cost and installation.

Energy efficient Elpan/Wanpan skirting board heating system provides highest level of comfort and healthy environment as well as sophisticated indoor design.

Skirting Board Heating Versus Traditional Radiators

Heating panels of Elpan/Wanpan skirting board heating system are fitted around the room, at the base of the wall, instead of regular baseboards and warms a house or a flat in a different way, comClick to enlargeparing to traditional radiators.

Thermal Encirclement is created as well as constant temperature throughout the room. It helps to avoid the air circulation caused by traditional radiators. The air in the room does not move arround, while the traditional radiators create a circulation of air, which starts by moving up to the ceiling and the crosswise.

It allows to reduce heating energy consumption by 20%, when installing Elpan/Wanpan skirting board heating system and creating Thermal Encirclement effect. Additional up to 15% of energy savings are achieved when programmable thermostats are used. Thermal Encirclement eliminates a possibility of any cold or damp walls or corners.

There are no radiators on the walls, what gives more flexibility to furnish the room as desired. Eliminating one or two radiators in the room indoor design becomes modern and appealing.

Residents of the house are living in more comfortable and healthier environment. Elpan/Wanpan skirting heating system versus traditional radiators by creating The Thermal Encirclement and making indoor living more pleasant and healthy.

Elpan/Wanpan Heating Versus Baseboard Heaters

When it comes to baseboard heaters everybody pictures old fashion and bulky heating equipment, mounted at the lower level of the wall. These days, modern and updated baseboarClick to enlarged heaters are having significantly better design.

However, they are usually found to be mounted at the location bellow windows and installed on one or two walls of the room. At the point of heat distribution, when baseboard heaters are installed on one or two walls of the room, they are functioning as regular radiators. Indoor design is interrupted by baseboard heaters, not to mention, that there will be no energy savings comparing with traditional radiators as well as the thermal encirclement is not achieved.

In addition, when baseboard heaters are chosen as the heating option for premises, regular baseboards (wood or synthetic) need to be installed and the purchase/installation price applies.

Heating panels of Elpan/Wanpan baseboard heating system is mounted at the location of wood or synthetic baseboards and eliminates the cost of traditional baseboards as well as the cost of their installation. Elpan/Wanpan heating versus traditional baseboard heaters by many points – energy efficiency, healthy environment, low inertia and sophisticated indoor design.

How to Keep the Same Indoor Temperature in the House

How to keep the same indoor temperature in the house? This is a common question comming from heating systems’ consumers. Obviously, creating the environment, where the same temperature is achieved in all living areas of the house, sometimes might be a little challenging.Click to enlarge

Each area of the house is exposed to different conditions concerning heating losses, because of its different location in the house – windows facing different direction (north/east/west/south), rooms are located at the ground floor or second floor, 1, 2 or 3 outside walls, etc.. These factors lead to different heating energy consumption. Installing only one thermostat at lower lewel of the house – definitely will not provide with the conditions where the same temperature will be achieved in each area of the house.

The main requirement for achieving the same indoor temperature in the house – having thermostats to be installed in every room and each living area, which needs a heating system. If the thermostats appear to be programmable – the same temperature should be set up in each room at the same period of time.

If there is a goal to achieve the same thermal conditions in every room of the house, it is very important, that thermostats are not affected by such additional heat sources as direct sunlight, fireplace or appliances, which radiate signifficant amount of heat, etc..

Programmable thermostats or regular thermostats for Elpan/Wanpan skirting board heating system could be purchased localy – for the purpose to lower the price of the heating system. Programmable or regular thermostats installed in every room help to keep the same indoor temperature in each room and create the most comfortable indoor environment in the house.

Skirt Board Heating System Ending Design

Skirt board heating system ending design should not be a concern. Elpan electric and Wanpan hot water based heating systems have special ending parts: End plug – O for Elpan heating system and Stop component – PQ for Wanpan heating system. These parts are used for heating systems to look completely finished.

In some cases, installers, designers or home owners refuse to use standart design parts of Elpan/Wanpan heating system and rather coming up with different ideas how they would like to see the ending of the heating system at the door (picture on the right).

If  for some reason there is no desire to use a corner parts of Elpan electric heating system or Wanpan water based heating system and standart ending details, a small segment of regular Elpan-Obaseboard could be installed. When regular baseboard has the same measurements as the heating panels of Elpan/Wanpan baseboard heating system, it looks as very neat and polished indoor design solution. Wanpan-PQ

Skirt board heating system ending design has few different options and it is perfectly fine to install a small regular baseboard segment where heating system aproches the door. Otherwise, neat and almost invisible heating system ending parts are used to have Elpan/Wanpan heating system to be well finished at the end of the line of the heating panels.

Infloor/Underfloor Heating System Installed in Bathroom, Entrance or Under Staircase

Infloor/underfloor heating system installed in bathroom, entrance area or under outside staircase is the best choice concerning the specifics ofClick to enlarge these areas.

Infloor radiant heating is always recomended to be installed in the bathroom and this recomendation is backed by logical reasonining: standing on the floor barefooted, wearing lighter clothes and often having water spils on the floor.  Electric or hydronic infloor radiant heating system installed in the bathroom – is a good choice at all points of view.

However, Wanpan hydronic baseboard heating, can be installed in the bathroom at the choice of the owner. Electric Elpan heating system is strictly not recomended to be installed in the bathroom, because of the safety regulations.

At the entrance of the house and under outside stairase – these are the areas of the house, as well as the bathroom, where you should be suggested to install infloor/underfloor radiant heating system. It helps to have the mentioned areas clear out of snow and water much faster. The only concern has to be addressed – to make sure, that updated and reliable insullation is properly installed. If the job is done more or less ceareless – the high heat losses will appear and heating these areas of the property will become very costly.

Infloor/underfloor radiant heating systems are the most recomended heating systems to be installed in the bathroom, entrance of the house and under outside staircase.

Heating Systems

Conventional radiators produce a high temperature immediately above the radiator and a warm layer under the ceiling. The lowest temperature is at the floor height and this causes discomfort from draughts. High energy consumption due air convection.

Infloor heating produces higher temperature on the floor, which can be uncomfortable to stand on without footwear, for longer period of time. The temperature is lower the farther from the heat source.  There is large energy consumption due to the inertia of the system and inherent limited possibilities for the exploitation of the free heat by temperature control. By installing wood floor and/or covering floor with carpet makes radiant heating system far less efficient.

Ceiling heating has been used for some years in single family houses and in some large rooms in public buildings by installing radiant overhead ceiling panels. Warm air moves upward and a layer of higher temperature air always will be at the ceiling.

Forced Air heating system that is blowing warm air makes room space to warm up quickly. However, when outdoor temperature is low, room space that was warmed up cools very quickly, soon after stopping to blow warm air. It increases energy consumption. Huge air infiltration significantly reduces air humidity. Additional air convection results big energy loses as well.

Elpan/Wanpanenergy saving skirting board radiant heating system is based on the principle of the thermal encirclement, which creates a more even distribution of heat throughout the room, as the heat is conducted at a lower temperature.

This is quite different baseboard radiant heating system in comparison to other heating systems such as conventional radiators, baseboard heaters, infloor heating or ceiling heating.
